In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, aren’t we all looking for a place where we can catch our breath and renew ourselves?
For me a beautiful view in the middle of nature is the ultimate refresher. Some of those places have these kind of magic. In the right light and at the right time they are capable to inspire, astound, and simply to take our breath away. These destinations needs not to be on a very prominent bucket list of “Must see spots” – some of these places are unknown or just a few steps away.
Magische Orte

Sometimes you have to go a long way, spend a night in your sleeping bag and at 5:00 a. m. in the morning in freezing cold twilight to catch the perfect sunrise.
The best moments often happened unexpectedly when, for example, the weather was bad and the sun broke through the clouds for a few seconds. Catching this moment is the biggest challenge, but also a real gift. Back home you have almost forgotten the strains of the tour and you look back with satisfaction at some really spectacular pictures.
Magische Momente
When the day ends a whole new world begins at night. Darkness adds mystery to a photograph.
In gerneral night photography could be divided into two categories, one with natural light and the other leveraging from man-made light sources.
Landscape photographers love the magical light of sunset and twilight. With long shutter speeds and a steady tripod it’s even possible to photograph the landscape lit by nothing but moonlight.
Artificial light transforms the urban landscape into a place of magic and mystery.
I think the quote of Edward Weston "The camera sees more than the eye, so why not make use of it?"
is more up to date than ever, especially when shooting in the dark.
Let's own the night!
Nachtaufnahmen

It is noticeable that black and white photography has ushered in the era of photography and remains so to this day. But why is that? Black and white images manage to focus the focus of an image on the essentials by withdrawing the focus from unimportant parts. This is an immense advantage for photographers as it allows them to create concise, expressive images. Black and white images live on their contrasts. Black-White is the pre-visualized result of a well-considered and independent way of seeing and thinking.
Body Painting is one of the first and most original art forms. Previously used mainly in traditional rituals and ceremonies, it is increasingly recognized as a modern art form.
It is a magical and transformative experience for everyone involved, from the viewer, to the model, to the body painter themselves.
One of the beautiful things about body painting is that it’s like a sand mandala. You spend all these hours painting and then it just gets washed down the drain. It’s temporary. The art exists for only a moment and then it’s gone.
And so, photography has become a way to conserve it. The capturing of the moment with the model. The sweet spot happens when everyone’s feeling it, the photographer’s in the moment and all of these elements meet in the middle.
All the showcased images I captured during world bodypainting festivals in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
Lebendige Leinwand
I live in Bavaria and that's the number one reason why I believe that I'm priviliged. The breathtaking beauty of the state offers uncounted opportunities for photographers and nature lovers. Mystical forrests, wild rivers, crystal-clear lakes, fairytale castles and snow-capped mountain peaks - bavaria has it all.
It is my paradise.
Mein Paradies
“Well, I suppose nothing is meant to last forever. We have to make room for other people. It’s a wheel. You get on, you have to go to the end. And then somebody has the same opportunity to go to the end and so on.” – Vivian Maier
People are fascinating. I can look at street photos endlessly—from any time or place.
A good rule to me is to shoot as soon as I can see the scene and then, if I have the option, to try to improve on my initial shot. Surprisingly often, you can’t. The freshness and immediacy to the first shot is often lost in subsequent images.
I'm just started with it, and I'm still learning to shoot people.
